UEF admits 602 students to Master’s degree programmes taught in English

Student admissions to the Master’s degree programmes taught in English at the University of Eastern Finland have now been completed. For studies starting next autumn, admission was offered to 602 applicants, amounting to 32 per cent of all applicants. The number of applicants to whom admission was offered grew from last year, when admission was offered to 577 applicants. All applicants have been informed of the student admission results by email in March. 

Students to whom admission was offered represent a total of 71 different nationalities, and 79 per cent come from outside the EU and EEA.   

The application period to the Master’s degree programmes taught in English at the University of Eastern Finland closed in January. The overall number of applicants remained on the previous year’s level (1,905 applicants), but there was growth especially in the number of applicants from India and China. The same trend of development can also be seen in students to whom admission was offered: the number of students from both India and China more than doubled from last year. Now, admission was offered to 38 applicants from India (compared to 14 last year), and to 38 applicants from China (compared to 18 last year). 

The most popular programmes this admissions round were International Business and Sales Management (273 applicants of whom 50 were offered admission), Information Technology (254 applicants of whom 80 were offered admission) and Public Health (251 applicants of whom 43 were offered admission).
