The University of Eastern Finland’s Freshers’ Survey aimed at students who started their studies in 2019 was carried out in the form of an electronic questionnaire (eLomake) and filled out by students in spring 2020. Using a scale from 4 to 10, students gave the studying conditions at the UEF an average grade of 8.5 (8.5 in 2018), and the attractiveness of the UEF an average grade of 8.3 (8.3 in 2018).
The survey charts first-year students’ opinions and experiences regarding their study path in general, and teaching and learning, study planning, counselling, bullying, well-being, and the learning environment.
The results of the survey and any need for improvements will be discussed in working groups comprising members from University Services and the university’s faculties.
