Academy of Finland awards more than 6.4 million euros of funding to UEF researchers

The Research Council for Biosciences, Health and the Environment at the Academy of Finland awarded on 27 May a total of 6.43 million euros of funding to University of Eastern Finland researchers.

The amount of funding secured by UEF researchers is significant. The university’s researchers secured funding for altogether 15 Academy Projects, amounting to nearly 17 per cent of the overall funding available.

This year, the Research Council made a special investment in the career development of early-career researchers by allocating 9.4 million euros of separate additional funding to early-career researchers. In addition to supporting early-career researchers, the Research Council also wanted to place strong emphasis on how the projects contribute to scientific renewal.

A list of the funded projects and their descriptions can be found here.
