Research

The Faculty of Social Sciences and Business Studies forms an innovative community with diverse multidisciplinary research interests. The faculty's research is linked to the university's areas of expertise on forests and the environment, and on health and well-being. The focus on the research activities lies on the following fields:

  • research in well-being and service structures
  • research in border, border areas and Russia
  • social research in environments

The Faculty is strong in environmental research relating to social sciences, law and well-being. In a research of the management of health and welfare services, faculty is a national leader. Also, the faculty is well-known for its certain areas of business administration and management and a recognised expert in research pertaining border, border areas and Russia.  

The faculty as an administrative unit operates on strategic level and steers the research in general.The actual research is carried out in the departments and in the special research units and institutes.  The research fields and projects are described in departments' and units' own webpages >> to the departments.
