Studying at the Faculty

The Faculty of Social Sciences and Business Studies carries out education of five academic fields and over 30 main subjects. The study programmes leading to degrees are carried out on Joensuu and Kuopio campuses. The Centre for Tourism Studies at Savonlinna Campus is the coordinating unit for the Finnish University Network  for Tourism Studies. 

The medium of instruction is mainly Finnish. However, diverse opportunities are provided to study in English as well. Alongside graduate or postgraduate degree programmes, there are options to enrol in non-degree programmes.

Graduate students are approved to basically study on one campus. Studies are also held mainly on on one campus, although part of the business, sociology and social policy studies can be carried out on both the Joensuu and Kuopio campuses.
