Current State of Russian Democracy

Dr. Williams is a professor of politics whose research interests include the politics of Russian social policy, health and welfare; youth and social change in Russia and the politics of Russian science.
Cybercrimes and public procurement from EU and criminal law point of view
Professor Michaela Poremská from the Mendel University, Czech Republic, lectures on Cybercrimes and Public Procurement from EU and Criminal Law point of view during her visit to the University of Eastern Finland Department of Law in Joensuu Campus. Lectures are in English and open for everyone interested in the topic. Warmly welcome!
Lectures will be held:
- Tue 17th April 2012 at 10.15–12.00 on AG101
- Wed 18th April 2012 at 12.15–16.00 on AG101
- Fri 20th April 2012 at 10.15–14.00 on AU205
Students, who participate to the lectures, can get the course Criminal Law (5 ECTS) by returning a minimum 10-pages learning diary based ont the lectures and additional reading relating to the subject. The students will search for the additional reading themselves (min. 5 books or articles). The learning diary is to be written in pairs. The learning diary has to be returned by email to Professor Matti Tolvanen (matti.j.tolvanen(at)uef.fi) by Mon 7th May 2012.

Doctoral Dissertations
- The doctoral dissertation by M.Soc.Sci Anita Saaranen-Kauppinen "Conceptions fo Social Skills in the Field of Engineering and Technology" will be defended in public on Kuopio Campus on fri 8.6.2012 at 12.00 (Medistudia-building, auditorium ML2, Yliopistonranta 2, Kuopio). The opponent: Professor Anneli Eteläpelto, University of Jyväskylä and Professor Vilma Hänninen as a custodian. The dissertation and the public defence are in Finnish.
