Q: Am I eligible to apply?

We are mainly deciding eligibility based on three criteria:

1) You have a bachelor's degree

2) A minimum of 60 ECTS of studies in business and/or tourism business is required.

Q: Are there internships available on the programme? 

At this moment we do not provide internships in our programme.  Our students are allowed to work while studying. 

 

Q: What are my job prospects after graduation?

Our degree prepares you for an international career in the service business, especially in tourism. You can be an entrepreneur, a destination marketer, social media specialist, business manager or a consultant, just to name a few examples. Our focus on technology, wellbeing, and sustainable tourism will give you a great position to work in the field of tourism with skills and knowledge respected and sought-after by employers. Around 90% of our business school graduates find a relevant position in work life. 

 

Q: Can I get a post-study work visa?

After your graduation, you have up to a year to search for work in Finland or abroad. When you have a job, you can apply for a new residence permit.

 

Q: Where the Master's Degree Programme in Tourism Marketing and Management studies take place?

A: The studies are organized in Joensuu campus of University of Eastern Finland.

 

Q: Much does it cost to join the programme if accepted?

A: For EU / ETA students studying in our international master's degree programmes is free of tuition fees. For students coming from outside EU / ETA region tuition fee is 8000 € / year but we offer excellent scholarship opportunities for them. 

 

Q: How does the scholarship system work?

A: To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the University of Eastern Finland, all new students admitted in 2020 are eligible to receive a partial tuition waiver. In the Master’s Degree Programme in Tourism Marketing and Management, the tuition waiver is 50% of the annual tuition fee. For the second year of study, tuition waivers are available to students who have completed a minimum of 55 ECTS of studies included in their degree, during their first year of study. You apply for the scholarship at the same time you apply for the programme, both are in the same application system.
