We are an international master's degree programme in tourism marketing and management at University of Eastern Finland. We provide master-level studies in Joensuu, Finland completely in English. The programme takes two years to finish. Our students graduate as masters of science in economics and business administration with a specialization in the tourism business.

Master's Degree Programme in Tourism Marketing and Management is not only about making money; we aim to make tourism better. Better for tourism businesses, better for tourists, better for the environment and better for local communities. This is what we teach our students and this is what the students can do when they have finished our degree programme. We will provide you with the tools and skills needed to make it in the future. We provide students comprehensive knowledge on how to manage and market tourism businesses and destinations in modern, global tourism field. Our program is not the easiest there is, but there are not many like it in the world. We focus on understanding the customer, on creating value for all people and organizations involved in tourism, on small and medium-sized enterprises, and on wellbeing of tourists, nature, businesses and local people. We do this with the latest academic knowledge combined with real-life business challenges.

Master's Degree Programme in Tourism Marketing and Management is a two-year programme containing various studies total of 120 ECTS credits. The curriculum includes courses on consumer behaviour in tourism, marketing and management of tourism companies and destinations, research methods, and electronic business. All the courses in the curriculum will be focused around three central themes: wellbeing tourism, sustainable tourism and nature-based tourism. We are looking students who are passionate about developing tourism both as a livelihood as well as a phenomenon affecting our whole planet. We welcome applications from persons who hold a Bachelor's degree in either business or tourism or who have at least 60 ECTS credits of studies in the aforementioned topics. For students from EU / ETA region, the Master's Degree Programme in Tourism Marketing and Management does not charge tuition fees. For non-EU/ETA students tuition fees are 8000 € per annum. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the University of Eastern Finland, all new students admitted in 2020 are eligible to receive a partial tuition waiver. In the Master’s Degree Programme in Tourism Marketing and Management, the tuition waiver is 50% of the annual tuition fee. For the second year of study, tuition waivers are available to students who have completed a minimum of 55 ECTS of studies included in their degree, during their first year of study.
