The Center for Climate Change, Energy and Environmental Law aims to produce high quality and policy-relevant research within its fields of expertise. CCEEL’s research activities cover international, European and national legal and policy developments. CCEEL researchers also actively participate in relevant theoretical and methodological discussions in legal studies.
CCEEL currently hosts several research projects, funded by among others the European Research Council, the Finnish Strategic Research Council, the Finnish Academy of Science and the Finnish Ministry of the Environment.
CCEEL’s research activities are carried out in three research groups:
- Climate Change and International Environmental Law (led by Professors Kati Kulovesi and Harro van Asselt)
- Energy Law (led by Professor Kim Talus)
- National Environmental Law (led by Professor Tapio Määttä)
