Application requirements

In line with the ‘European Charter for Researchers’, you will have the freedom to choose your research topic within the research focus areas of BioMEP, host supervisor and hosting institution, which is relevant to your research and career development. Before the preparation phase, you will contact the prospective supervisors with expertise in the area of research in which you wish to carry out your proposed research project. The application shall be prepared jointly by you and the supervisor from one of the hosting institutions. The application must be written entirely in English and should contain the following documents using templates available on this BioMEP-website (Documents):

  • Application form;
  • Motivation letter describing the reason why the applicant is interested in the doctoral programme and qualifications for the project in question (max. 1 page);
  • Detailed curriculum vitae (CV), including personal contact information, academic background, experience, skills, awards, list of publications (if any);
  • Research proposal (template for Research proposal), including a section on research environment (max. 2 pages), ethical issues (check H2020 Research Ethics guide) + the supervision agreement;
  • Certified (translated) copy of Master’s (or higher) degree certificate and certified (translated) transcript of records of Master’s (or higher) degree studies (latest at the time of recruitment);


The call for the program will be open 3.10.2016. Once you have completed the application form and attached all enclosures, please save it as a PDF file and e-mail it to biomep (at) on or before the deadline of November 30, 2016 16:00 CET.
