Education in the Central Fields of Health Care

The Faculty of Health Sciences trains and educates experts and professionals for several central fields of health care. The faculty has approximately 2400 undergraduate students in the following degree programmes and major subjects:

  • pharmacy
  • dentistry
  • medicine
  • health biosciences
  • health sciences in
    • clinical nutrition
    • ergonomics
    • exercise medicine
    • nursing science
    • public health

In addition, the Faculty has five international Master’s Degree Programmes completely in English.

The level of education provided by the Faculty of Health Sciences is of top level: The Finnish Higher Education Evaluation Council has awarded the status of a Centre of Excellence in Education for nursing science(1996-1997), medicine (2004-2006), and more recently for clinical nutrition and postgraduate training conducted at the A. I. Virtanen Institute for Molecular Sciences (both for the period of 2007-2009).
