Parking

Parking at the Kuopio Campus (in the area between Neulamäentie and Niuvantie) is allowed in marked parking spaces only. Most of the parking spaces are reserved for university parking permit holders. During the winter months, parking in spaces with electricity is allowed only for those who have purchased a permit for a parking space with electricity.

There are visitor parking areas next to the Canthia and Snellmania buildings. Parking is allowed for four hours with a parking disc. Furthermore, visitors may also park their cars in the two rear rows in the parking area behind the Melania building, as no permit is required there.

Facility Service Secretary Anne Sulkakoski is responsible for delivering parking permits to the academic departments and the Student Union, which will further distribute them to members of the staff and students.
Parking spaces with electricity for the winter season (5 months) can be applied for once a year. The opening of the application period is announced separately every autumn. Parking spaces with electricity for the winter season
15 Nov 2011–31 March 2012 have been distributed.
