Objectives of the conference

In recent years, sustainability, responsibility and environmental issues have become an important topic of public debate. Tourism, like many other industries, is in a global state of change. The relationships and cooperation in tourism has become more and more important to maintain sustainable practices and competitiveness. Sustainable tourism is in many cases connected to nature-based tourism. However, it is important also to recognize the sustainable and responsible practices in all tourism activities and development.

The topic of the Sustainable tourism conference directs the focus towards the relationships, cooperation and partnerships between all the stakeholders in tourism – tourists, businesses, DMOs, NGOs, governmental organizations etc. How different relationships affect sustainable tourism development? The conference will aim to address these issues.
