Graduate School of Geography
Intensive doctoral course: Dialogues of Development

Department of Geographical and Historical Studies
University of Eastern Finland, Joensuu Campus October 28-30 201

‘Dialogues of Development’ aims to highlight many of the dualisms that societies, communities and researchers encounter today in the search for ‘development,’ both in practice and theory. The intensive doctoral course will bring together doctoral students from the various fields of geography and related subjects to listen to speakers representing different fields as they explore development questions, and then to present their work on ‘development’ and receive expert feedback. We also will have the opportunity to discuss the upcoming 2011 launch of a new journal from SAGE, Dialogues in Human Geography, with one of the members of the editorial staff.
