MSc in 1988 and PhD in 1994  in Department of Mathematics, University of Joensuu. Senior assistant at University of Joensuu since 1993, docent at University of Helsinki since 2004. A member of national research networks “Finnish variable exponent Sobolev spaces research group” and “Nonlinear partial differential equations”. Long term research visits include  Mittag-Leffler Institute in Stockholm, University of Utrecht, and Charles University of Prague. The main research area is nonlinear potential theory in particular in variable exponent spaces and metric spaces.

The teaching experience covers different areas in analysis as well as courses in algebra, geometry, number theory, probability theory and topology.'
