Filmborders III: Africa!

Filmborders III: Africa! is organized together with the Writing Cultures and Traditions at Borders research project (University of Eastern Finland), the Association for Borderlands Studies, the North Karelian Regional Film Association and the Helsinki African Film Festival. Filmborders III: Africa! presents a unique collection of award-winning African films and provides an opportunity to see films that have been neglected on the global and commercial cinema market. We ask what kinds of borders need to be crossed when making films in or about Africa? All films are shown free of charge at the movie theatre Tapio, Kauppakatu 27, beginning at 16:30 o'clock.
