An International Study Programme in Law

Every year, there are international exchange students taking non-degree studies at the UEF Law School. International Study Programme in Law is a non-degree programme designed specially to meet the needs of international exchange students who wish to familiarise themselves with judicial questions and legal practices. The programme offers a wide variety of courses in the different fields of law, e.g. European Law, International Public and Commercial Law, Comparative Law and Environmental Law.

Duration of the International Study Programme in Law is one academic year. However, it is also possible to enroll for only one semester. To obtain a certificate, students must complete at least 25 cp of the offered law courses. The course Introduction to Legal Studies and Finnish Legal System (2 cp) is compulsory for all students enrolled in the International Study Programme in Law, other courses can be chosen freely according to student's own interests. It is also possible to complete courses in other international study programmes of the University of Eastern Finland.

International students must have completed at least one year of university studies in order to be eligible for the study programme. Successful completion of the programme requires that the applicant has a good command of English.

The credit points (cp) refer  to the credit points system under the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).
