Jarno Talponen, PhD
Talponen obtained his PhD in 2008 at University of Helsinki in the topic of Functional Analysis. The topic of the thesis involves the isometry group of Banach spaces. He has studied since more generally the geometry and structure of Banach spaces and received Docentship in Mathematics in 2011. He worked as a Research Fellow in Aalto University 2009-2012.
He is investigating the topological nature of non-separable Banach spaces, long Schauder bases, geometric function theory on Banach spaces and is also studying quantitative finance, function spaces and lattices.
He is married, has two cats and is interested in reading and traveling.
