Master of Public Health Nutrition (MPHN)
The University of Eastern Finland is profiled as a science university with international reputation in the fields of health, environment and well-being. Public health and clinical nutrition are among the major subjects taught at the university. Closely related to these major subjects is the field of public health nutrition.
Public health nutrition focuses on the promotion of good health and maintenance of well-being through nutrition in the whole population. Prevention of diet-related illnesses is also emphasized. The aim of the program is to train specialists in Public Health Nutrition who can work in e.g. in related research, development and projects. Feasible employers include administrative bodies, organizations, industry, schools and research institutions.
Program content
Public health nutrition is a track in the Master’s Degree Programme in Public Health. The students will graduate with a Master’s degree in Health Sciences. The studies consist of modules in nutritional sciences, public health, health promotion, epidemiology and biostatistics, research and elective studies.
