StudiesThe MSc European Forestry Course provides you an ideal opportunity to get high quality education, to network with professional from all over the world and travel across Europe. The two-year 120 ECTS Course is well-organised and students can rely on solid support from the MSc European Forestry secretariat with regard to practical arrangements. 1st year autumn semesterStudies begin in early August with welcoming and orientation Helsinki, Finland, and Stockholm, Sweden. The first study Module is organised in Sweden, Skinnskatteberg, where we will take you with a bus. All the travels and accommodation from Helsinki to Skinnskatteberg and back are collectively organised for all the students. All the expenses are covered by the Field Course Contribution, so all you need to do is to enjoy and concentrate on your studies. Study Modules 2 and 3 take place in Joensuu, Finland, where students spend the autumn semester until 31 January. Yet again, the MSc European Forestry secretariat helps you with the travels and accommodation. 1st year spring semesterAfter Joensuu, students travel to their country of choice for study Module 4, Applied Period in Forest Institutions. Applied Period is an Internship and lasts for three months. All the Consortium universities assist students in finding accommodation and offer further support both in practical and academic matters. The last two courses of the first year are Module 5, European Forestry Field Course, and Module 6, Multifunctional Forestry in Mountain Regions. The European Forestry Field Course begins early May and takes student to a journey across the Europe, from Spain, Barcelona, through France, Germany and the Netherlands followed immediately by Module 6 in Austria. All the travels and accommodation, as well as many of the meals, are provided to students during the Modules 5 and 6. The expenses are covered by the Field Course Contribution. 2nd study yearModule 6 ends by mid-June after which students set off for a summer break. The second year studies are carried out in the Consortium Universities, which are chosen already during the previous spring. It is possible to stay the entire year in one university or split the year in two by studying autumn semester in one and spring semester in another university.
