At the Savonlinna Campus, all services of importance to students are near by. A service outlet of the Finnish Student Health Service is located on campus, as is the Student Union's office. The Teacher Training School is also located on campus.

A boat cruise on Lake Saimaa and local products available on the lively market square are definitely worth trying. In the summer, the streets of Savonlinna are crowded with opera enthusiasts visiting the Savonlinna Opera Festival.
