The main difference in this double degree program compared to the normal UEF MSc studies is the inclusion of the MSc thesis project. The MSc thesis work follows the Japanese system, where the student, when starting the two years Master’s studies, starts working toward MSc thesis from the beginning of the studies. Hence, in this double degree program the MSc thesis topic is defined during first two weeks of the program and the work for the thesis starts. The thesis will be supervised by two supervisors, one from each university and if the topic is industry defined, there will be an advisor from the company as well.

The MSc thesis project includes an internship, which will give you a real world view into the thesis topic. During the internship you will work either in the Japanese company, which offers the MSc thesis topic or in a Japanese research laboratory.
