Alexander Obraztsov, PhD, Professor
Got Diploma Specialist Degree (equiv. to MSc) in 1981 and PhD in 1986, both in Department of Physics, Moscow State University, Russia. In 2001 he got degree of Doctor of Science in Physics from the same University. Since 1981 he is working at Moscow State University as Researcher, Professor Assistant, Senior and Leading Staff Scientist, and, at present, as Professor at Department of Physics. From 1999 to 2002 he was Professor at Department of Electronics and Photonics, Kochi University of Technology (Japan). Since 2006 he is working as a part-time Professor at Department of Physics and Mathematics, University of Joensuu (Finland). His long term scientific visits to foreign universities include 1 month stay at Stony Brook University (NY, USA), 6 months work at Electrotechnical Laboratory (Tsukuba, Japan), 3 and 2 months stays in National University of Singapore (Singapore).
The main research interests include production and characterization of nano-carbon materials, development of scientific approaches for application of nano-carbons in electronics. He has published more than 100 articles in refereed scientific journals and done more than 30 invited presentations on scientific conferences. He is a member of American Ceramic Society, Russian carbon Society, Russian Nano Society.
His teaching experience includes courses in General Physics, Physics of Carbon Materials, Physics of Crystal Surfaces, Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology.
Alexander Obraztsov was born in 1958. He is married and has daughter and son.
