Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine

Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine is one of the disciplines in the Institute of Clinical Medicine.

Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine is responsible for teaching and research work, which consists of the examination of organ functions and their disorders by means of physiological measurements and functional imaging examinations. The field closely involves medical technology development, validation and clinical application. Methods from clinical physiology and nuclear medicine are utilised especially in diagnostics, in assessing the extent of functional disorders, in planning treatments and in monitoring the clinical course and treatment response.

Undergraduate medical training, medical specialist training in clinical physiology and nuclear medicine as well as scientific research take place in close cooperation with the KUH Diagnostic Imaging Centre. The rooms of the teaching staff are located in KUH´s Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine Unit (Puijo Hospital, building 1 A, 2nd floor).

More detailed information on discipline-specific medical specialist training can be found at the pages of School of Medicine.
