RESEARCH DATA MANAGEMENT PLAN WORKSHOP (1-2 h)
The data management plan (DMP), describes how the research data is managed during the research project and the preservation and availability for reuse after the research project is completed.
In the workshop we go through the main contents of data management plan, UEF guidelines to data management and questions from participants. Library offers workshops on both campuses every academic year.
OPEN PUBLISHING AND SELF-ARCHIVING (45 min)
This course introduces the possibilities of open access and self-archiving (UEF eRepository) in the UEF. Includes also a demonstration of search sites for OA journals (e.g. DOAJ, Publication Forum).
DMPTUULI (30 min)
DMPTuuli is a software tool for compiling research data management plans. The course comprehends the basic functions of the DMPTuuli tool, which guides the researcher to come compile their data management plan according to the instructions laid down by the funders and the research organisation.
DID YOU FIND IT? DATABASES OF YOUR ACADEMIC FIELD AND UEF PRIMO (1-2 h)
The course introduces the essential international databases of your field of study (for example, Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, Ebsco, ProQuest). In addition, it gives a comprehensive orientation about the UEF Library's search service for print and electronic material, the UEF Primo.
ORCID RESEARCHER IDENTIFIER (15 min)
The uses and benefits of research identifiers; this course shows you how to create and utilise an ORCID research identifier.
REPORT YOUR PUBLICATION: UEF-SOLECRIS (15 min)
Why is it important to announce your publication? A quick introduction on how to submit the publishing information of your publication to the UEF Library with an e-form.
ORDERLINESS TO BOOST YOUR SEARCHES (1 h)
The principles of systematic information retrieval, essential terminology, how to choose the proper search terms and shape good search clauses. How the recall and sensitivity along with the precision and specificity affect your search results, and what are the search techniques in controllably randomised research. This training session is always tailored to suit your academic field of study.
RESEARCHER VISIBILITY(1 h)
Why is it important for a researcher to be visible online? This session introduces academic networking services (ResearchGate, Academia.edu), other networking services used by researchers (LinkedIn, Twitter) and the assessment tools of the social media coverage for your research (e.g. Kudos, Ebsco, Scopus, Web of Science).
OPEN RESEARCH DATA (1 h)
What benefits does opening your research data include? What should you take into account when opening your data? This training session demonstrates research data archives (e.g. IDA, Aila, Zenodo) and introduces you to Creative Commons licensing.
RESEARCH ASSESSMENT WITH INDICATORS (1 h)
A comprehensive overview about the most general bibliometric indicators used in research assessment (e.g. reference analysis, journal impact factor (IF) values, Publication Forum, SJR, SNIP, IPP, a researcher's h-index) and analysis tools.
RESEARCH ASSESSMENT WITH SCIVAL SOFTWARE (1 h)
Getting to know the SciVal software used for assessing the research quality and quantity of individuals, research groups, academic fields and organisations in relation with other organisations, observing collaborative research and envisioning research trends.
FIXING YOUR REFERENCES AND SOURCES (1-2 h)
Would you like to manage your references and make reference lists quickly and easily? Have you already heard about RefWorks, but you would need some guidance to get started? Join a RefWorks training session! On the course, you create a personal reference library with the RefWorks reference management software by saving references from different databases. You also get to practise making quotation entries in your text and compiling a reference list in different citation styles. The training also gives you an opportunity to get to know the Mendeley reference management software.
PUBLISHING YOUR DISSERTATION IN THE UEF (30 min)

Feedback will be processed daily. Easily fixed issues will be solved immediately if they are essential to the service and in accordance with the operating policy. All feedback will be processed in the relevant services. If necessary, feedback will also be processed in the library's working groups. Feedback and the changes prompted by feedback will be processed annually by the management group in the management review.
