Rasbin Rijal, South Africa

On the second year of my IMPIT study, I went to South Africa as an exchange student for 3 months. My host university was Cape Peninsula University of Technology, which is situated in beautiful city of Capetown. It is the largest university in the Western Cape Province with over 32,000 students. I studied few IT courses and also collaborated on a project with a team of students on local health improvement. During my exchange studies, I also got the opportunity to learn about the culture, cuisine in South Africa from my local friends there. There were several student groups / clubs in various fields and lot of activities were organized in the university almost every day. Apart from studies, I also volunteered in several events like tree plantation organized by CPUT Green Team in the university which works for the protection of the environment.

South Africa is one of the most beautiful country in the world with amazing nature. It is a multi-ethnic society encompassing a wide variety of cultures, languages, and religions. There are lot of interesting things to do in South Africa like hiking, safari trips, surfing, kayaking, rock climbing and more. Some of the things I did during my exchange period were hiking to the Table Mountains, visiting some Museums and Botanical garden, road trip to Namibia, Safari tour. It was a great experience in South Africa during my exchange period.
