Other specific requirements
Applying when you have not yet graduated
If you have not graduated by the time the application period for the programme you are applying to begins, you are required to submit a copy of your latest transcript of records (please also see the Country-specific requirements). If you receive the degree certificate and the final transcript of records during the application period, it is recommended that you submit copies of them as well.
You should point out the anticipated graduation date on the application and submit the documents you have at the time of applying. Do not wait to receive your final diploma or degree certificate if it is not available during the application period. Depending on the programme you are applying to, you may also be required to submit a statement from your home institution in English, Finnish or Swedish, stating the expected date of graduation.
Please note that conditionally accepted applicants are required to present copies of their degree certificates before the programme begins, by 7 August 2020. Admitted applicants are also required to to bring the original documents with them for verification upon arrival in Finland.
Proving your language skills with a degree completed in English
If you are proving your language skills with a degree completed in English, please note that the universities carry out the student selections and it is at their discretion whether a degree meets the language skill requirement set for the programme. If your degree includes transfer credits from outside the specified country/area or courses conducted in a language other than English, the degree might not meet the requirement.
If your educational documents are issued in a language other than English, Finnish or Swedish, official translations of them to one of these languages are required. An official translation must be one of the following:
- issued by the awarding institution
- an officially certified copy of a translation issued by the awarding institution
- translated by an official translator
- an officially certified copy of a translation made by an official translator
Each page of an official translation must bear the translator’s stamp and/or signature. Official translations must be exact translations of the original documents. Translations done by the applicant him- or herself are not accepted.
