Dr. Suero Montero is a Human Computer Interaction expert that has extensive experience working within international environments in the fields of computational linguistic, novel interaction techniques usability and sentiment analysis. Her main research interests include interdiciplinary research between HCI and Human Language Technologies (HLT) applications such as conversational system; designing and implementing algorithms for text-based Affective Computing; investigating the social acceptance of novel human-computer interactions, such as gesture-based mobile interactions designs; and computer supported collaborative work in educational settings.

Dr. Ilkka Jormanainen, ilkka.jormanainen (at), Post-doc researcher

Dr. Jormanainen is a post-doctoral researcher with the main research interest including educational data mining, educational robotics and tangible interfaces, and other concretization tools in education. Recently he was leading a multidisclipnary EU-funded Congregational Mobile Technologies R&D project. In the past, he has been Executive Director of Joensuu Science Society, a NGO focusing on science and technology education. In his work at Joensuu Science Society, he was leading the annual Finnish SciFest festival for science and technology for three years. Furthermore, he has been strongly involved in development of SciKids' technology education concept at the University of Eastern Finland (formerly University of Joensuu). He has got consulting, research, teaching, and administration experience from various international initiatives in Finland, South Africa, Nepal, Tanzania, Zambia, and Mozambique. 



Dr. Jarkko Suhonen, jarkko.suhonen (at), Docent, Senior Researcher

Jarkko's research interests include online and blended learning in higher education, design science research in educational technology and computer science education. He has published over 80 peer-reviewed papers in scientific journals, conferences, workshops and chapters of books. Jarkko is the co-ordinator of the IMPDET-LE online doctoral study programme at UEF. He serves on committees for various conferences and special issues of journals, and acts as a reviewer in several scientific journals. Jarkko Suhonen received his MSc from University of Joensuu, Finland in 2000 and his PhD from University of Joensuu in 2005. Jarkko has also a secondary school's teacher's qualification in Computer Science and Mathematics.

Msc. Emmanuel Awuni Kolog, emmanuk(at), Early stage researcher

Emmanuel is a doctoral student in the edTech research group. He is currently researching in digital counselling platforms, thereby designing digital tools to augment the counselling sector. Emmanuel's research involves collection of life challenges through life stories written in text by potential participants, couple with detecting emotions from the textual content using Natural Language Processing approach in order to form the basis to explore contextualized digital counselling platforms (digital games). His general research interests spans across contextualized e-counselling implementation, User-centered design, Natural Language Processing for emotion detection, game design based on life stories, ICT4D and educational technologies.

Msc. Solomon Sunday Oyelere, solomon.oyelere(at), Early stage researcher

Solomon is a doctoral student in the edTech research group. His research interest include mobile computing, web technologies, mobile learning, cloud computing, e-learning technologies, mobile robots, and computer science education. In his doctoral studies, Solomon is focusing on developing a mobile learning platform to learn ICT/programming courses and designing practical innovative solutions to teaching and learning of IT courses at university level in Nigeria. Solomon has more than 5 years of experience in lecturing Computer Science Courses at Dorben Polytechnic Abuja, Nigeria and recently at Modibbo Adama University of Technology Yola Adamawa State Nigeria. He has a MSc degree in Research in Computer and Systems Engineering from Ilmenau University of Technology Germany and a Bachelor of Technology Honors Degree in Computer Science from Federal University of Technology Yola Nigeria renamed Modibbo Adama University of Technology Yola Nigeria.
