FORHOT - Natural soil warming in natural grasslands and a Sitka spruce forest in southern Iceland

Principal investigator: Assoc. Prof. Marja Maljanen

Funding period: 2012- (several foundations)

In the FORHOT research project we study how changes in soil temperature affect various ecosystem processes in both natural grasslands and a planted 45-year old Sitka spruce forest in Hveragerdi, Southern Iceland.

Subproject: CH4, N2O and CO2 fluxes from three FORHOT temperature gradients (forest and grasslands). This study is made in co-operation with Agricultural University of Iceland (Bjarni D. Sigurdsson).
