Moodle Environment for Students
The University of Eastern Finland uses several Moodle environments. The old Moodle environments of the University of Joensuu and the University of Kuopio will be shut down during the autumn 2010. The teacher of the course will tell you in which Moodle your course can be found in and what the required enrolment key is.
For further information on how to get a UEF user ID and how to activate it, see the IT Centre website.
Starting to Use Moodle – UEF Staff and Students
After this, you will be directed to the Moodle front page, at the centre of which you will find user instructions. Click the My Courses link on the left to view the courses on which you have been given access to.
Enrolling on Courses
When you have successfully logged in to Moodle, you will see a list of courses at the centre of the front page. The list of courses shows all schools and departments in Moodle. By clicking a school / department, you can view the courses offered. If you have already enrolled on a course, only your own courses will be displayed at the centre of the page.
Find the course on which you wish to enrol, click its name and Moodle will ask you if you wish to enrol on it. Click ’Yes’.
If the course has an enrolment key, Moodle will ask you to give this key when you try to enrol on it. The teacher of the course will give the enrolment key to the course participants. You only need to give the enrolment key at the first login on the course. If you should have teacher rights on the course, only the person in charge of the course can give you these rights.
