Miia Kivipelto receives MetLife Foundation Award for Medical Research in Alzheimer’s Disease
Research Director, Professor Miia Kivipelto has received the MetLife Foundation Award for Medical Research in Alzheimer’s Disease in recognition of her significant research addressing Alzheimer’s disease.
The award ceremony took place in the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference, AAIC, in Toronto on 25 July. The award amounts to 125,000 dollars.
Kivipelto was presented with the award in recognition of her research addressing the prevention, early diagnostics and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.
MetLife has been presenting awards to Alzheimer’s researchers for over 30 years. This year, MetLife presented awards to four leading researchers in two different award categories.
Miia Kivipelto works as Research Director in the Department of Neurology at the University of Eastern Finland, and as Professor at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm.
