About the programme

The Master’s Degree Programme in Educational Sciences offers students a lifelong learning perspective on Educational Sciences. Students may major either in Education or in Adult Education.

The curriculum emphasises educational aspects and learning activities with a global focus. The programme opens up comparative perspectives on questions pertaining to lifelong learning and expertise, educational policy and educational research. Additional and alternative courses include topics such as active citizenship and career counselling.

The programme provides students with the research, evaluation and project management skills needed in international positions relating to education and adult education.

The duration of the programme is approximately two years. After successful completion, students are awarded a Master of Education Degree. This degree does not include a formal teaching qualification. The programme is offered at the Joensuu campus of the UEF.
