AP is typically done in Finland or Russia but preferably not in one’s home country.

Objectives

The main aim of the AP is to apply in practice different types of theoretical, professional and social skills and knowledge acquired throughout student and working life. Through working as a part of a team, the aim is to learn how the organization is operating at national, European and international level, especially in relation to Finnish-Russian cooperation. Other aims include learning about business culture, project and organizational management, organizational values, and professional team work. In case of research institutions it is also important to learn how a research projects are typically initiated, funded, managed, and reported.

Study mode

The minimum duration practical training period of AP is 8 weeks of full-time work. Successful completion of AP consists of three parts: minimum 8 weeks of practical training, report and presentation of the AP. The practical training placement is typically found and suggested by the student but in limited amount the CBU FEE partner universities may also have some placements. The practical training placement needs to be agreed beforehand with student’s home university.
