Finlandia Foundation National Invites Applications for Law Scholarships by 1 Feb 2018
(PASADENA, California – November 13, 2017) – Finlandia Foundation National (FFN), the premier network of Finnish-American organizations in the United States, is accepting applications for its P.J.C. Lindfors Legal Scholarship for 2018.
Finnish and American law students are eligible for an award from the P.J.C. Lindfors Legal Studies Fund administered by the FFN. Pertti Lindfors, a Finnish-American attorney in San Francisco, California, established the scholarship to encourage cross-cultural study and understanding by law students in Finland and the U.S.
Eligible candidates are American law students studying in Finland, and Finnish citizens enrolled in a law school in the U.S. that is approved by the American Bar Association. Students must have successfully completed the first year in an American law school or in a Finnish law faculty.
The application deadline is February 1, 2018. Awards will be made and recipients notified in the spring of 2018 for the following academic year.
Guidelines and the application is available online at FinlandiaFoundation.org. The Spring 2017 FFN newsletter, also on the website, carries brief descriptions of this year’s scholarship recipients. Previous recipients have studied at Columbia Law School, George Washington University, Harvard Law School, University of California Berkeley, University of Hawaii, University of Montana, University of Washington, and University of Turku, Finland.
